MARGAO: Congress MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, appreciating Health Minister Vishwajit Rane’s efforts to give the best health care to Goans, has demanded that backdoor entry of doctors especially in speciality care should be avoided.
He has demanded that all posts of speciality doctors be advertised in national and local publications before being filled up and lamented that Dr Harish Peshwe has been appointed in charge of the gastroenterologist department to be set up in the super speciality block of Goa Medical College.
Pointing out that GMC is highly regarded for the quality of service and also doctors working there, Reginaldo however warned that if the appointments are not made in a transparent manner it would jeopardise the status of GMC.
