PANJIM: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Friday claimed many Congressmen were in touch with the BJP and some of them may seek an appointment with the party’s National president Amit Shah when he is in the State to address booth workers on May 13.
Addressing the media, Rane said, “There are a lot of Congressmen in touch with the BJP. They may even seek an appointment with BJP president Amit Shah. Do keep a watch for those from the Congress who would be meeting Shah.”
The minister also rubbished the demand of the Congress to change the BJP leadership, claiming that Chief Minister Parrikar has been responding well to the treatment in US.
He said, “Whether a scheme of the government or any other issue is being resolved. Parrikar on a weekly basis is in touch with all the ministers and issues are being addressed by interacting with the Chief Minister. I feel Congress is unnecessarily getting excited.”
He added that there is insecurity on the part of the Congress that was making it raise the demand of a change in leadership of the government. “They don’t have to give us advice, Parrikar has the mandate of the people and in governments the numbers matter,” he added.
Responding to a question on Parrikar’s return, Rane said the Chief Minister was responding well to treatment but nobody knows the date on which Parrikar will return.
“There is no instability in the State government or any type of issue. This government is running well and will complete its full five year term. Each minister is performing well and nothing new is going to happen, even in 2019 nothing is going to change,” the Health Minister said.
