Cong, NCP most communal: Parrikar

PANJIM: "Congress and NCP are most communal parties," Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said accusing them of "perpetrating falsehood in the name of communalism" in the state.

PANJIM: “Congress and NCP are most communal parties,” Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said accusing them of “perpetrating falsehood in the name of communalism” in the state.
“Both parties are perpetrating falsehood in the name of communalism. They are trying to paint the BJP-led government as communal but the real fact is that NCP and Congress are the most communal parties,” Parrikar said.
He said that he has figures to support his claim that minorities were not given government jobs during the Congress-led regime in the state, while during the BJP government, thrice the number of minorities are recruited in the government services. “I feel minorities failed to give money to Congress and NCP and hence no jobs were given by them,” Parrikar added.
Parrikar was reacting to NCP allegations that minorities are being sidelined while recruiting people for government jobs. Parrikar pointed out that the Congress -NCP coalition government provided employment to only about 1.78 per cent of the minorities in Goa whereas the BJP-led alliance government encouraged 3.28 per cent of Goan minorities to join the police constabulary.
He said that in professions such as nurses, counsellors, more than 50 percent of the selection was from the minority community.
“The selection of minority candidates during the BJP-led government is more compared to Congress government and it has happened across the state,” he said.
