Leaders urge people to send BJP home this poll

MARGAO: The Congress padyatra reached Navelim on Thursday where a public meeting was held on Francis Luis Gomes ground where several Congress leaders addressed over 600 people calling upon them to send the BJP home this assembly elections.
The Congress Janjagruti Padyatra started from Balli, proceeded to Cuncolim market, Assolna, Chinchinim, Sirlim and then reached Navelim on the ninth day. The party also held a public meeting at Cuncolim market.
Opposition Leader Pratapsingh Rane, GPCC President Luizinho Faleiro, Margao MLA Digambar Kamat, former MLA Philip Neri Rodrigues and Pratap Gawas, AICC General Secretary Girish Chodankar and several others addressed the meeting.
Quoting the statements made by Subhash Velingkar at a meeting in Margao, Luizinho said, “The RSS Chief of Goa has spoken the eloquent truth about his former political affiliation, the BJP and the way he has mocked them is good enough evidence what they have done to the Goa state.”
“We need to pledge to drown the BJP in River Mandovi, if we have to save Goa,” Luizinho said.
Kamat mocked at the BJP for taking U-turns on all issues and betraying the people. Rane said that there needs a confident and relentless fight to remove BJP from power in the State.
Meanwhile, the yatra will start from Varca Church on Friday at 9.30 am and will proceed through Benaulim, Colva, Betalbatim and further.
