PANJIM: Congress has formed an internal monitoring committee to scrutinise and report illegalities by the government while preparing the ODP and conversion of zones and land usage.
The committee has been formed with architect Tulio De Souza as its chairman and Rahul De Faria and Sudin Naik from Mapusa, Jennifer Lewis Kamat from Panjim and Gautam Desai from Margao as its members.
Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) chief spokesperson Sunil Kawthankar said, “The committee has been empowered to take any necessary action, including approaching the court of law to challenge any irregularities or illegalities done by the TCP Department with regards to ODPs, regional planning or land conversions.”
“In view of the conversion of eco-sensitive zones and its repercussions and adverse impact on the society, environment and demography of the villages and towns across Goa, the party has decided to proactively monitor and scrutinise all the decisions, taken by the present government,” he added.
