PANJIM: Congress slammed Tourism Minister Manohar Azgaonkar for the tourism junket to USA.
Congress spokesperson Avinash Tavares said, “Even if his intentions are noble, can we really expect Americans to decide their summer vacation just a month before? Shouldn’t he have begun his promotion at least four months ago?”
Tavares said the Tourism Department must stop spending on junkets and instead focus on online advertising, social media and TV advertisements. “Another question the Minister has to answer is whether, Nilesh Cabral and the CS are using the junket to have a personal, unofficial visit to CM in New York at the cost of the exchequer?”
