VASCO: The Congress has questioned Urban Development Minister Milind Naik’s right to cut trees without permission.
Addressing the media here, GPCC Vice-President Sankalp Amonkar and activist Suraj Chodankar questioned what right Naik has to cut tree without obtaining permission.
They suspect the tree cutting issue is being politicised and exaggerated to overshadow the naphtha storage issue.
“Naik is setting wrong precedent for the people by cutting trees without following procedure; tomorrow anyone might start chopping trees without taking permission,”. Amonkar alleged
He also opined that many tourists use to come to Goa to see greenery and scenic beauty, but sadly trees are being chopped of and greenery has been overtaken by the concretisation.
