MARGAO: Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s meeting with Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has surprised many but the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president Girish Chodankar explained that Rahul’s gesture of visiting the ailing CM is in keeping with his politics of dealing with all with love, compassion and having no ill-will even to the political adversaries.
“It is not just a courtesy call but of care and concern and mirrors our party’s ideology of believing in politics of compassionate behaviour with humanity and society at heart. He extended a hand of care and compassion and called on Parrikar to share his concern and wish him speedy recovery”, said Chodankar
He said the Congress party has always been in a politics that believes in human values and has social welfare at the heart and that the path never believes in politics of vindictiveness and vengeance, which is reflected through the visit of the national president.
Chodankar recalled that Rahul had even hugged Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Parliament. “Congress knows to spread love even to the arch political rivals. That is why despite being on a private visit, our national president managed to take off-time to meet him”, said Chodankar.
According to Chodankar, although Gandhi wanted to visit his house but due to Assembly session, he had to visit Goa Assembly to meet him.
