The ‘Vision Document’ was released by GPCC President Luizinho Faleiro during a press conference.
The Congress has alleged that there has been loot, blackmail and plunder of land in Fatorda for the past several years.
Joseph Silva, Avinash Tavares, Ethel Lobo, Camilo Baretto and others were present at the press conference.
Faleiro said, “This is the first Congress block in Goa which has come out with this document and assured that he will include all the points in this document.”
“Fatorda was integral part of Navelim and I have connection to this land. There was no proper road and infrastructure when I became MLA in 1980. But today because we planned that time the infrastructure has come. We had planned for a court complex stadium and several other facilities. Today all these projects are there but benefit is not for Fatordekaars. Markets are in a mess. No community centres. Good infra has to reach the people and this vision document will be a part of the road map for development of the constituency, Faleiro said.
Ethel Lobo said, “We are sure that the right candidate will be selected for Fatorda. We have requested our leaders to give us a non-corrupt and a local face.”
Faleiro informed that screening committee of Congress would meet on January 4. “Congress lost all but 9 seats and we understood that there may have something gone wrong at governance and we have learnt from the mistakes and have introspected,” he said
Faleiro informed that Joseph Silva, Ethel Lobo, Camilo Barreto, Piedade Noronha and Avinash Tavares have been shortlisted and one of them would finally be selected soon.
