PANJIM: Rejecting the charge levelled by Goa BJP State President Sadanand Shet Tanavade against the Opposition for not appealing to the public to participate in COVID vaccination programmes, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar advised BJP to stop politicising issues related to COVID.
He criticised the Central government too for politicising the vaccination programme. “These are issues (government’s response to COVID) where you can’t and should not politicise. They have done it before also, during the Zilla Panchayat elections too. They will put the picture of the Prime Minister while promoting the government to gain mileage. Sometimes that of the Chief Minister, this is not right,” said Chodankar.
He also said the party has already appealed to the public to get themselves vaccinated and that Congress MLAs too had taken the vaccine doses in a bid to motivate the people to take the vaccines themselves.
