Addressing a press conference in the capital on Tuesday, Agnelo Fernandes and Sunil Kawthankar reeled off a list of 30 U-turns and ‘empty promises’ made by the BJP-led government, since its came to power in March 2012.
Issues such as non-shifting of offshore casino vessels from River Mandovi, medium of instruction, non-starting of mining operations, failing to bring to book culprits involved in illegal mining, failure to deliver on the new regional plan and special status were among 12 U-turns listed under five star category.
The drug menace, cancellation of tablet distribution to students, which was on the BJP’s 2012 election manifesto, increasing VAT on petrol, due to empty coffers, non settlement of Mayem Evacuee Property in 100 days and hosting of multiple EDMs have been placed under three star category.
