PANJIM: Six month after the BJP national executive occurred in Goa, Congress on Saturday alleged that the money was spent illegally from the state treasury on 60 BJP national officer bearers by recognizing them as ‘state guests’, who were here to attend party’s two day national executive meeting, held on June 8-9.
Addressing media persons, newly appointed Congress spokesman Amarnath Panajikar pointed out that 60 rooms were booked in four and five star hotels while 85AC vehicles were used to ferry them.
Panajikar said that according to information procured under RTI it has been revealed that 60 BJP executive members along with 26 aids enjoyed holidays in Goa through government funding. He demanded that the money be recovered from the party (BJP) treasury.
Further, Panajikar said that despite the State reeling under financial loss due to mining closure and loan liabilities, crores of rupees are been spent on Ministers’ and MLAs’ foreign tours.
