MARGAO: In a shocking incident, the indifference over the issue of speculations on tickets to defectors was witnessed in the Congress camp, wherein a major altercation between All India Congress Committee Goa election observer P Chidambaram and party leader from Benaulim Mickky Pacheco was reported, on Saturday.
According to reliable sources from the Congress, the altercation between the two was reported at a Congress meeting at Verna.

Mickky, who was recently inducted into the party made his stand clear with Chidambaram that no defector who had made entry in the party should be given the ticket to contest the Assembly elections.
“Party needs to take note that no defector will be given the tickets. In order to strengthen the party and to regain the lost trust, the party needs to field young and new faces for the upcoming Assembly elections,” Mickky made his stand clear before Chidambaram.
However, alleging that Mickky has taken names of the defectors Chidambaram cautioned not to mention the names but the former MLA refused the allegation. And hence, an altercation between both was witnessed at the meeting for a few minutes.
Mickky has even made his stand clear on the alliance with NCP and stated that he will not accept the alliance at least in Benaulim Constituency.
That’s not over; even another Congress leader from Nuvem also countered Chidambaram over the issue and urged not to give tickets for any defectors who have been inducted or going to be inducted into the party.
This local leader also brought to the notice of Chidambaram that there are several leaders who have ditched the party after electing on the Congress ticket.
