Cong to corner govt over VHP, Sadhvi

Slams govt for failing to act against the two for spoiling peace in Goa and dividing society

MARGAO: Congress Legislative Party leader Chandrakant (Babu) Kavlekar has planned to corner the present dispensation on issues relating to tensions that has resulted in division in society and breach of peace.
The CLP leader and the AICC Secretary Girish Chodankar are however on the opposite side of the net with Babu stating that there was no attempt to topple the government.
The CLP leader in a press briefing said, “There are issues which are creating tension and hurting the sentiments of people. This is the achievement of the BJP government in the last 100 days.”
“VHP and Sadhvi came and spoiled the peace of the State. The government is trying to divide and no action is taken,” alleged Babu.
The MLA has also vowed to take up the issue of the order preventing government officers from going to the MLAs’ office. “Rethink and take back the decision that prohibits government officials from visiting MLAs’ offices. We have taken a resolution at the CLP to oppose this at the Assembly. Are you promoting or demoting the development in the state?” asked Babu.
The MLA however, clarified that they are not trying to destabilise or topple the government and said that since the mandate is against the present dispensation the government will crash under its own weight.
