PANJIM: The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) will launch week-long Jan Jagruti Abhiyaan across all 40 Assembly constituencies of Goa from November 17, as part of All India Congress Committee (AICC) pan-India initiative against inflation and price rise.
GPCC President Girish Chodankar on Thursday said that during the Abhiyaan, several Congress leaders will visit all the 40 constituencies and interact with the people to create awareness on the rising inflation across the country, he said adding that Goa is equally affected with the price rise.
Chodankar said that Jan Jagruti Abhiyaan is a part of nationwide exercise by AICC. All the leaders will travel various constituencies covering the length and breadth of the State.
“The Abhiyaan will begin in the morning and leaders will travel entire day. They will have breakfast and lunch at the residence of the Congress worker and if required, would make night halts in their mass contact area,” he added.
The GPCC president said that the rising prices of essential commodities, petrol and diesel and LPG cooking gas has affected the livelihood of the people.
“The Block Congress Committees will continue the programme by themselves after the week-long Abhiyaan,” said Chodankar.
