PANJIM: Wishing Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar a speedy recovery, the Congress has urged people to refrain from mocking at his health and cursing him.
Parrikar is currently admitted to Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) after his health condition deteriorated on Saturday night. Since then, several rumours about his medical condition have spread on social media. “We should pray for Manohar Parrikar and his family. We definitely had and will have a strong ideological and policy differences with him, but mocking at his health and cursing him does not make us a better human beings,” Congress chief spokesperson Sunil Kawthankar tweeted.
“Thus, a request to all who are doing so to please refrain yourself from doing so,” he urged.
Earlier, addressing a press conference, Congress president Girish Chodankar wished the speedy recovery of Parrikar, who is ailing with pancreatic cancer for past one year.
“We wish Chief Minister speedy recovery and good health. We pray that he gets well soon and gets back to work,” Chodankar said.
