PANJIM: The Santa Cruz Block Congress Committee has urged the government to cancel the written examinations for the posts of Senior Assistants and Junior Assistants in the General Administration Department (GAD) to be held on November 26.
In a letter addressed to Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel, IAS, Santa Cruz Block Congress Committee president John Nazareth has pointed out that the government through a recent advertisement has announced dates for holding written examinations for the posts of Senior Assistants on November 26 between 10.30 am to 1 pm and for the posts of Junior Assistants on the same day between 3 pm and 5.30 pm, while advertisement for the same posts were issued on October 14, 2021, wherein online applications were invited for filling up the posts of Senior Assistants and Junior Assistants by direct recruitment.
Pointing out that according to the Government of India office memorandum, all ministries or departments must complete the process of direct recruitment within six months, Nazareth has alleged that the Goa government is violating the provisions and is playing with the future of the young candidates who have passed out during the last two years when the applications were kept pending during the years 2022 and 2023 and have become eligible for the posts.
