Cong wants govt to cancel Delhi-Margao Rajdhani train

VASCO: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee vice president Sankalp Amonkar on Wednesday demanded that the state government cancel the Delhi- Margao Rajdhani train arriving in State on May 15 as this train will halt in other States, which are in the Red Zone and by allowing it in Goa can prove disastrous.

Amonkar informed media persons that he wants State government to rethink on allowing Delhi-Margao Rajdhani train in Goa, which will arrive on May 15.

Amonkar questioned the government’s move of allowing the train in Goa, which will halt at various locations in other States such as Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra, which are in the Red Zone.

He urged the government to cancel this train for the safety of the Goans.

Amonkar strongly opposed to the transportation of bauxite from MPT to Belgaum.

He said around 900 trucks will come to Goa from Belgaum with around 2000 drivers and conductors. Belgaum is in the Red Zone due to rapid increase in the number of COVID-19 cases.

“I feel it is not safe for Vasco residents to allow such transportation. At least there should be strict check and measures need to be undertaken on these people coming from neighbouring States,” he demanded.
