VALPOI: Around 20 members of Valpoi unit of Mahila Congress confronted Health Officer Dr Gajanan Naik over lack of medical facilities and equipments at the local government hospital, on Wednesday.
The Mahila Congress members also submitted a memorandum, containing a list of facilities lacking at the hospital, to the medical officer. The members were led by Mahila Congress President Pratima Coutinho.
Later addressing the media, Pratima Coutinho said, “It is a big shame on Vishwajit Rane that despite being the health minister, he cannot keep his constituency health center in good condition.”
“When he cannot keep his own health centre in good condition, how will he keep Goa’s medical facilities in good condition?” she asked.
Valpoi unit of Mahila Congress President Roshan Desai complained that no development has taken place in Sattari taluka since last 50 years.
Health Officer Dr Gajanan Naik said that he would forward the memorandum to his higher authorities concerned.
