PANJIM: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) spokesperson and Minority Committee chairman Urfan Mulla, has alleged two scams in the Housing Board colonies at Gogol and Maruti Mandir, Margao that took place in 2005 and 2014 respectively.
Addressing the media, Mulla accused then Housing Board Managing Director as well as municipality officials and builders of illegally developing plots at Gogol in an open space of 3520 sq mts, which was actually meant for children to play, and selling them at cheap rates.
He said it’s been 10 years that these occupants are residing at this colony and are unaware of the illegality and have now received an order from the Housing Board to vacate the houses, after Congress filed a RTI in the matter.
He also alleged there are two houses at the Housing Board Colony (Maruti Mandir) one of which has been illegally sold to a driver without proper permission from the board.
He added that they are in the process of filing a complaint on the matter with the Lokayukta, within the next eight days.
