Congress asks CM to implement VIIth pay commission by Diwali

PANJIM: Terming the BJP-led government as ‘anti-government servant’, the Congress party on Monday demanded that the recommendations of the VII Pay Commission be implemented on or before Diwali.

Speaking to media persons, Congress president Luizinho Faleiro accused the government of delaying the implementations of VIIth Pay Commission recommendations, which was supposed to be implemented from November 1 as assured by Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar. “Government seems to be intentionally delaying the implementation. The government employees unions that met me are disappointed and frustrated,” he said.  Reacting to the CM’s announcement that the Group C employees will be amalgamated into Group D, Faleiro said, “The proposal was recommended during the VIth Pay Commission. We demand that government implement the VIIth Pay Commission recommendations on or before Diwali. Failure will ascertain that this government is anti-labour,” he stated.
