Congress dares BJP to make PAC report on mining public within 72 hours

PANJIM: The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar on Saturday dared the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to make public the so-called Public Accounts Committee (PAC) report on mining within next 72 hours.

Speaking to reporters, Chodankar said that the BJP had had used decade ago PAC report to defame the Congress in Rs 35,000 crore mining scam.

“If BJP fails to make the PAC report public then it should apologise before the people of Goa and Congress Party for misleading voters to win elections,” he said.

“After making allegations against Congress over the mining scam, BJP usurped the power twice. But it failed to investigate and recover the money. Now it should be clear why it didn’t investigate the matter and recover the money,” he pointed out.

Chodankar said that after the Congress comes back to power, every single allegation made against the BJP will be investigated and action will be taken.

“When I make allegations it becomes my responsibility to investigate it when my party comes to power. Otherwise it will be proved that I was making allegations to derive political gains,” he said. “BJP have government at Centre and also in State, then who stopped them investigating this matter?” he questioned.

The GPCC president also dared BJP, along with the AAP and TMC to come clear over their stand on three linear project and coal hub. “People of Goa are not demanding freebies, but they want to guarantee whether Goa will be made coal free and three linear project will be rejected. These parties are not speaking on these issues as they are linked to Adani and Jindal, who are their god fathers and financers,” Chodankar charged.

AICC media incharge Alka Lamba said that according to a report of the Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR), the BJP had Rs 4847 crore in its coffers in 2019-2020 from a mere Rs 780 crore in 2013-2014. BJP should tell from where this money has come?, she demanded.
