VASCO: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) Vice President, Sankalp Amonkar, will sit outside the Vidhyut Bhavan, Vasco on Friday, which will begin the second phase of the protest campaign the party has been carrying out against the high electricity bills, consumers across Goa have been receiving.
Amonkar has also issued a challenge to Power Minister Nilesh Cabral to come out and debate with the people over the exorbitant charges of electricity bills.
Amonkar who has agitated across the State on this issue, accused the government of making a fool out of the common man and the public sentiment, by offering 50 per cent waiver on fixed charges for their power bills.
Regarding the agitation in front of Vidyut Bhavan, he called on Cabral to be true to his word and arrive at Vasco and engage in a debate with the people on this issue.
Adding that the second phase of their protests to convey the angst of the common man on this issue, will kick off from Mormugao taluka, he said they will hold their planned protest in front of the Mormugao Power Dept Headquarters, Next to Kadamba Bus Stand, Vasco at 12 noon on Friday.
