Congress has claimed to expose a “Maha Scam” in Goa Police Dept, where candidates who have scored low in constables’ written examination, have scored high marks in the PSIs’ written examination. They also alleged that most of the selected candidates are either children of BJP functionaries or of their kin. These recruitments will be challenged in Court and the selection list needs to be scrapped, Congress said.
Exposing the scam, Youth Congress President Varad Mardolkar read out the names of candidates who had scored marks in the 30s and 40s in the Constable exam and scored in the 90s in the PSI examination. How was this possible, he questioned since the PSI exam will be tougher compared to the constables’ examination, he stated.
Varad alleged there had been complete manipulation in the conduct of the written examinations in the police dept. He demanded a forensic examination of the exam answer sheets. The BJP Mandal Chairperson from Sanvordem had given three jobs to his family members, he alleged. A members of BJP’s IT dept had given a job to his wife. The BJP PRO has given a job to his bro in law, Varad alleged.
Elaborating on the scam, Varad also alleged that2017 BJP Marcaim candidates Pradeep Shet’s nephews –Rahul Shet had got 94 marks in PSI exam and Gautam Shet had got a job as JE in PWD. CM’s PRO’s cousin who was a driver in the police dept has now become PSI, he stated.
