PANJIM: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Amit Patkar on Saturday alleged that TCP Minister Vishwajit Rane was playing vindictive politics against the Opposition.
Addressing a press conference, Patkar said that if were illegalities and violations in the preparation of Outline Development Plans (ODPs) then the government should file FIR against TCP officers who signed these ODPs.
Alleging that Rane was targetting Leader of The Opposition Michael Lobo, Parkar demanded to know why no suo moto cases have been against those involved in Vagheri Hill cutting and against the illegal bungalow built within the precincts a the world heritage site at Old Goa.
Patkar also demanded that TCP Minister Rane should stop using unethical, undemocratic and arrogant language against elected representatives.
“Rane is suffering from short-term memory loss if he does not know Michael Lobo,” he said urging Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to intervene in the matter.
Referring to the National
Herald case, Patkar said the case was closed in 2015 but has been re-opened
keeping in mind the 2024 National elections. Congress will hold a protest in
front of the ED Goa office on Monday to protest what it called vindictive
politics which is aimed at creating fear.
