Margao: Congress legislator Aleixo Reginald Lourenco, who took to social media alleging the Goa Police’s drive against drunken driving was a BJP agenda, was trolled by the netizens. In his long Facebook post, Lourenco said the last-minute circular was to trouble the people. “The timing of this circular makes me sad for the people of goa (Goa) and tourists whose new years (year’s) eve will be destroyed..no doubt it will be a deterrent for drunk drivers but certainly the police will trouble people in the guise of checking as the police is already doing in tourist area and in no parts of the country when we go out of state we ever see such act …sad the police have been instructed to prosecute and report back smacks a devious plan of the bjp (BJP) ..RSS mind .. Thank you for ur (your) goencarporn (Goenkarponn) …..the bjp govt (government) in destruction mode … #notmygovt#” he posted.
The replies soon followed but trolling him for his views. One of thse who commented was Deepak Dessai asking the Congress leader to stop his politicking. “There will be revolution. Stop ur (your) politricks. Nobody is going to fall prey. Enough is enough. Let the police do their job. Not all are bad. They also have life and family still they are out doing their duties,” he said while also mentioning that drnking and driving was not the way to celebrate the New Year.
Another Facebook user Chatur Chopdekar posted, “Aleixo Bab dint (didn’t) expect this from you.”
“Rules are rules v (we) have to follow for safety (.) cant drnk and put normal people’s lives in danger that’s selfish,” Sachin Fernandes commented.
