Congress party to stake claim

PANJIM: Congress party has geared up to stake claim to form the next government in Goa.
Addressing the media at the Congress House in Panjim, All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary and Goa desk in charge Digvijay Singh informed that the Governor of Goa Mridula Sinha has given the appointment at 1.30 pm.
“The Governor is busy and she has given us the appointment for 1.30 pm. We will stake our claim to form the government”, he stated. 
When asked if the Congress had delayed the action, Singh said that the Governor was sent a letter on Sunday, 12 March and “without giving us a hearing she has invited the BJP to form the government”.
He further informed that the CLP leader Chandrakant Babu Kavlekar in a letter on Monday, 13 March informed the Governor of the petition filed before the Supreme Court challenging her decision to appoint former Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar as chief minister of the state.
The CLP is currently holding up at the Congress House in Panjim and will proceed to meet the Governor at 1.30 in the afternoon.
