PANJIM: Congress on Friday filed a complaint with Crime Branch regarding the alleged clearing of government files by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar via email suspecting that “not the CM but someone else has been sending those emails”.
The complaint lodged with Superintendent of Police (Crime Branch) Karthik Kashyap is substantiated with a note from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) dated February 28, that states, “I (Chief Minister) have been advised by the doctors treating me to avoid physical contact with the files for the time being on account of possibility of secondary infection as part of the ongoing treatment”.
The complaint filed by Congress spokesman Siddhanath Buyao states, “In such circumstances it is impossible even to work with any smart device and send and receive emails as he is prone to infections.”
The complaint mentions that the Chief Minister, who is in USA, has been clearing files via alleged emails which are received by his principal secretary P Krishnamurthy.
Buyao said there is grave suspicion as regards to whether the chief minister is sending emails or they are being sent by other individuals using his account thereby raising apprehensions of cheating and fraud, misrepresentation, and criminal conspiracy to defraud for financial gains by certain individuals.
“The complaint states that this particular series of emails should be thoroughly investigated by tracking the IP address from where such emails have been addressed,” he stated.
The complaint states that seeing the gravity of illness and his health condition on videos circulated, Buyao demanded that the government register offences against the wrongdoers.
Parrikar has been in USA since March 7 for advanced medical treatment. He had fallen ill on February 14 and was shifted to Mumbai on February 15.
