VASCO: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) spokesman Capt Viriato Fernandes has demanded resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah for failing to take steps to stop recent killing of Kashmiri pandits in Kashmir.
Slamming the Union government for not being able to handle the Kashmir issue, Capt Fernandes said that it was a sad situation for Kashmiri pandits and a sorry state of affairs in Kashmir.
He recalled 1990s when several Kashmiri Pandits were killed and many fled from there never to return back during the tenure of national front government headed by V P Singh and supported by the BJP.
Capt Fernandes alleged that even during the BJP regime, the government has failed to resettle the Kashmiri pandits and are still being targeted.
“They (Kashmiri pandits) want to flee but the BJP government is neither protecting them nor allowing them to flee,” he said demanding Shah’s resignation for failing to protect them.
Capt Fernandes alleged that the BJP is busy celebrating its eight years in power while in reality the Kashmiri pandits are suffering. The people have now realised the BJP’s politics and will give them a befitting reply at the next hustings.
