PANJIM: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Amit Patkar on Monday slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State President Sadanand Shet Tanavade for telling lies over the procurement of toor dal by the Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department.
Producing a copy of the Cabinet decision approving procurement of toor dal, Patkar said, “Har Baar Jhoot is the trademark of BJP. I urge Sadanand Shet Tanavade to rename his party to Bhartiya Jhooti Party. Lies after Lies getting exposed. Shame on Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Civil Supplies Minister Govind Gaude for blatant lies on toor dal wastage costing crores.”
Patkar said that in 2020 the State Cabinet had approved a proposal to purchase 408 metric tonnes of toor dal from the National Agricultural Co-operative Marketing Federation of India as per the prevailing rate of Rs 79,000 per metric tonne and to distribute it at Rs 83 per kg to fair price shops.
