Congress slams govt over bad roads

Slamming the government and PWD Minister for poor quality and pothole-ridden roads across the State, the North Goa Pradesh Congress Committee has demanded that same be repaired by providing people with quality roads.
Applauding the government for the highway expansion work, Congress spokesperson Amarnath Panjikar however expressed displeasure over the manner in which the work has been undertaken.
“The road near Mapusa church was hot-mixed a year ago but the same has turned bad. The work lacks quality and attribute the same to laying of a single or double layer. The signal at the new Bastora underpass is not functioning and neither there is a follow up in this regard as there is no CCTV camera installed at the spot. The dividers at the Bastora junction underpass have been damaged. If these are not fixed within the next two days then the Congress workers will do the needful,” Panjikar warned.
He alleged that the PWD Minister is fooling the people with false assurances and has failed to provide them with good roads.
“The roads across Goa have spoilt. The highway stretch is terrible as there is no professionalism. Every day there are accidents along the route. Despite the gherao at the office of the Principal Engineer there are no signages,” Panjikar claimed.
