PERNEM: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee on Thursday protested outside the Pernem Electricity Department office and confronted the EE Ruzario D’Souza over inflated electricity bills.
The Committee alleged that by inflated electric bills, the government has shown how insensitive it is towards the people of Goa during this COVID Pandemic.
Sankalp Amonkar alleged that Dr Pramod Sawant is involved in a scam. “Households which received bills of Rs 300 are now receiving bill amounting to Rs 1,800 which is five times the actual bill amount.
However instead of correcting the errors, the general public is forced to pay the bill amount and expected to correct it after the bill is paid. These bills should be corrected and fresh bills should be issued,” he demanded.
