PERNEM: Congress Zilla Panchayat candidate for Morjim Mahesh Konadkar on Monday extended his support to MGP Zilla Panchayat candidate Shridhar Mandrekar.
Addressing media, Mahesh Konadkar who was supposed to contest the upcoming ZP election as Congress candidate in Morjim said, “I have extended my personal support to Shridhar Mandrekar who is contesting for upcoming ZP polls on behalf of Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party in Morjim. This is my personal decision which I have taken with the only intention that votes should not split and third person should not benefit”.
Konadkar said, “There are 7300 voters in Morjim. I will personally visit the people and inform them about my decision”.
Jit Arolkar said, “Congress has directly extended its support to MGP in Dhargal and Torxem by not fielding its candidate for upcoming ZP election. Today the Morjim candidate has extended his support to MGP candidate in Morjim and soon MGP leader Sudin Dhavalikar will announce candidate for Arambol”.
