MARGAO: Colva residents have criticised the haphazard planning regarding the Colva to Margao road given the constant digging and re-digging of roads.
Locals pointed out that trees had been cut on the side of the main road years ago for the road widening work, which was abandoned for many years until recently.
They added that when this road widening work was finally completed, that too creating difficulties for people who live or have businesses near the road, the same is being dug up again.
They felt that the road, which is being dug for sewerage and other water pipeline related work, was not dug up prior to the road widening work.
Salvador Vaz said this proves that there has been a huge waste of taxpayers’ money. He criticized the government for failing to coordinate between its own departments.
Other locals said such works are also creating traffic congestion during peak hours.
