PANJIM: In a bid to simplify the procedure for issuing construction licenses, the State government has introduced the system of single joint site inspection by all concerned authorities with urban local bodies (ULBs) being the nodal agency.
Urban Development Department has issued a circular in this regards following approval from the government. The report of the joint inspection has to be prepared within 15 days. ‘A’ and ‘B’ class municipalities have been asked to convene the joint inspection once a week and ‘C’ class municipalities once a fortnight.
“It is further informed that ULBs shall fix a date of convening the joint inspection and inform all the departments and the applicant accordingly,” the circular stated.
The department said that the single joint inspection report will consist of the recommendations of all departments concerned within a stipulated time frame of 15 days.
The Commissioner of Corporation of the City of Panaji and Chief Officers of all the Municipal Councils have been directed to adhere to the directions that, after obtaining the approval and technical clearance from TCP Department, the applicant will submit the application for construction license to the concerned ULBs.
