PANJIM: Two consultancy firms have been empanelled by the State government for securing funds from the Central government on Wednesday.
This comes against the backdrop of the recent review meeting chaired by the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant with all the IAS officers attached with the State government on optimising Central government funds.
As per a circular issued by the Directorate of Planning, Statistics & Evaluation (DPSE), the two consultancy firms that have been empanelled are Darashaw & Company Pvt Ltd (DCPL) and All India Institute of Local Self Government (AIILSG). Their mandate is to secure funds under the central sector and centrally sponsored schemes in the fields.
The two consultants have been appointed for a period of 3 years. They will be paid an initial lumpsum amount of Rs 5 lakh, which will be adjusted with the pre-decided success fee as and when the consultant firms are successful in getting a central project /scheme approved for the State. The consultants will be paid 2% as success fee. There is also a provision for extending their contract by a period of two years if required.
As per the agreement with DPSE, the consultant will have to identify relevant Central government schemes with preference to those that have 100% central financial assistance
The consultants will then have to assist the DPSE in preparing proposals as per the guidelines, procedures and requirements of relevant schemes of the Central government, which may include pre-feasibility report, techno-economic feasibility report, detailed report or any other study as may be required to avail financial assistance.
