PANJIM: Civic and Consumer Forum GOACAN in a letter to the Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Goa Division, has called for the replacement of a rusty and broken letter box in Panjim.
The forum has sought the replacement preferably before March 15, World Consumer Rights Day.
In the letter, GOACAN Coordinator Roland Martins said that he has been receiving complaints that the letter box provided near Junta House is in a rusty and broken condition for a very long time.
“It seems that although the letter box is being cleared regularly, either the staff clearing the letter box is not reporting the matter or the supervisory staff including the Postmaster of Panjim, Head Post Office is ignoring the matter,” Martins said.
GOACAN has pointed out that this letter box being in the heart of the city and on the main road junction, its pathetic state can be seen by local people as well as domestic & foreign tourists.
