Contempt plea filed against Karnataka an eye wash: AAP

PANJIM: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has termed the contempt petition filed by Goa government against Karnataka government on Mhadei issue as an eye wash.

Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant wants to play safe and hence resorting to ways which won’t have any impact. The contempt petition has no grounds because Central government has already issued a Gazette notification allowing Karnataka to implement Mhadei project.

“We would like to thank media for doing ground stories on Mhadei issue, we have seen the disturbing visuals of dying Mhadei due to construction activities of Karnataka. Time and again we have been saying that the Chief Minister has compromised Mhadei for the BJP’s political interest. One of the top officials of Karnataka government called the contempt petition baseless as Centre has already approved the project,” said Surel Tilve.

“The Chief Minister must tell us about the outcomes of his meetings with the Central ministers including Jal Shakti Minister. Till now it has been all talks and zero output.”

“The way Environment Minister Prakash Javdekar ignored all the major issues of Goa in his recent visit shows how serious BJP is about the Goans. When we all know that all these projects are directed from Centre then why has he not responded to our queries,” questioned Tilve
