Contractor blows dust into Sao Tome homes to meet deadlines

The Sao Tome area was covered with a huge cloud of dust reaching up to the first storeys of houses, after the mindless contractor of road works started blowing the dust off the streets with machinery, on Thursday evening. The residents were furious at the cloud of dust invading their houses and strongly opposed the works. On Friday, the blowing did not continue. All that has to be done is suction the dust, which would involve additional cost to the contractor since he will have to hire a truck to dump the mud collected from the suction machine.

The Sao Tome by lanes are presently dug up and after soling has been done, the lanes are now ready for a coat of hot mix. Each contractor is under pressure to meet the March 15 deadline to make the area spick and span for the G20 Summit, as delegates may visit this heritage area.
