Sawant said that the entire project will be completed within 18 months from the time of commencement of construction.
To promote Goa as a preferred venue for meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions (MICE), the State government plans to develop the Convention Centre, which will have the capacity to seat 5,000 persons, at Dona Paula.
The Convention Centre will be constructed on the design-build-finance-operate-transfer (DBFOT) model, with a concession period of 60 years.
In yet another decision, the Cabinet approved General Administration Department (GAD) proposal to purchase an administrative building from the Goa Housing Board at Porvorim for Rs 30 crore.
The Chief Minister said that the building will house several government department offices.
