MAPUSA: Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaute in a letter to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has recommended use of Multipurpose Cyclone Shelter & Fire Station, Porvorim as COVID care centre.
Khaute stated that with the forthcoming third wave the State expects a higher level of precautionary measures to be taken. To tackle the issues, I strongly recommend that the Multipurpose Cyclone Shelter (MPCS) & Fire Station (FS) at Porvorim be completed on priority basis (latest by May 31) and used as COVID care centre.
Khaute further said that opening of Fire Station at Porvorim with all infrastructural facilities, vehicles and machinery will ensure the readiness of the constituency to tackle any calamities or like events.
“Conversion of the Multipurpose Cyclone Shelter (MPCS) into a specialised COVID Care Centre equipped with necessary infrastructure, staff, medical professionals and medicines will ensure that all medical emergencies in and around the Constituency can be attended with minimum turnaround time with separate paediatric unit/ wing”, he added.
