MARGAO, FEB 14
Robert Moraes, who has been convicted by the South Goa Sessions court in the bank robbery attempt, on Monday moved the court under the Probation of Offenders Act.
Moraes appeared in the court room today and moved an application for his release under the Act on grounds that he is a sick person and having four children, and is the sole bread earner in the family.
The Additional Sessions court has asked for a reply from the Public Prosecutor Bhanudas Gaonkar and has posted hearing of the case later this month.
Robert was held guilty by the Sessions court in the attempt to rob the city bank with a pistol, but has been acquitted of the charges of attempt to murder.
