VASCO: “Cooperation between India and Portugal will give positive results in various fields as well as in improving bilateral relations,” Minister for Protocol Mauvin Godinho said.
“Because of historical links between Goa and Portugal, special emphasis is put on our State. If any political figure wants to visit Goa as an itinerary of his India visit definitely it will lead to signing of agreements which will further enhance the bilateral cooperation in different fields,” Godinho said.
Godinho was speaking to reporters after launching road tarring work at Chicalim circle area. The cost of the work is Rs 2.87 crore.
He said that the recent visit of the Portugal President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa would definitely benefit the State in various aspects and also in building stronger bilateral relations.
Minister said that he was happy to learn new things after his recent meeting with the Portugal president. He also added that areas such as ship building, sewage management, water supply, science and technology, tourism development etc will benefit. “Agreements have been signed which are going to give very good results to our State,” he said.
“We expect to get good technology which is being used in Europe and this is very good. Why should we not take such benefits?” Godinho added.
