CoP to allot Panjim jetty to Maharajah Casino

PANJIM: Captain of Ports (CoP) Department has finalised the Panjim jetty for Maharajah Casino (M V San Domino), which will is expected to shortly begin operations after nearly eight years.

PANJIM: Captain of Ports (CoP) Department has finalised the Panjim jetty for Maharajah Casino (M V San Domino), which will is expected to shortly begin operations after nearly eight years. 
The floating vessel has been leased to politician Gopal Kanda-owned Golden Globe Hotels Pvt Ltd (GGHPL) for six months with the High Court of Bombay at Goa directing the government in December 2017 to allot a jetty.
In its submission before the High Court on Monday, Captain James Braganza said that the department has decided to allot Panjim jetty to the casino for it to operate feeder boats. 
The State government, through Advocate General Dattaprasad Lawande had submitted to the High Court that it has decided to allot a jetty to San Domino and that necessary orders will be issued to the company within one week. 
The jetty sources said will be purely used on ‘touch and go basis’ like other vessels.
