PANJIM: The Agassaim Police investigations into the seizure of ganja in the GMC boys hostel has come under the scanner as police appear to be shielding the five interns who have been rusticated after they were found under the influence of alcohol and with seven grams of ganja last week.

Though the GMC academic screening committee took immediate action against the five interns, the police investigation surprised the GMC authorities and also other students.

Highly placed sources in GMC told Herald that ganja was not found in the toilet but was caught by one of the interns when he attempted to throw it out from the window of the toilet on noticing the police.

When the police reached the GMC boy’s hostel, one of the interns rushed to the common toilet situated on the third floor and tried to throw the `ganja’ packet out. But to his bad luck, the police caught him red-handed even as the intern received a cut on his hand caused by window glass.

“If the police want, they can summon the five interns and find out who has received a cut on his hand. The incident occurred on May 25. But police investigations are shoddy. They are trying to show that nobody was caught red-handed,” said very reliable GMC sources

The sources further alleged that the Agassaim Police are also yet to take action against four other students who assaulted and caused grievous injury to their colleague in the boy’s hostel last month. The victim suffered a fracture to his nose.

The GMC conducted its inquiry and rusticated four students for three months.
