MARGAO, MAY 31
The Goa police team headed by the South Goa district police chief Allan De Sa were huddled in the district police headquarters on late Monday night drawing strategies on the Loutolim woman suicide case.
Sources in the know said the team discussed the issue of registering a case against the person who allegedly abetted the suicide of the woman Nadia Torrado. In this connection, the police are believed to have weighed and evaluated whatever evidence that has come to the fore during investigations.
When contacted late in the night, SP De Sa said the police have not yet registered any case against anyone for abetting the suicide of the deceased woman. He, however, said that DySP Umesh Gaonkar and Investigating Officer were investigating and in the process of collecting evidence in that direction.
“You will come to know by tomorrow the progress of investigations in the case,” he said.
On the application made by women’s activist, Tara Kerkar for a fresh post mortem examination, the SP, South said the police have filed its say in the case and has left it for the Sub-divisional Magistrate, Margao to take a decision on the application.
