Cops foil robbery attempt in Bicholim market

The Bicholim police in the wee hours of Sunday foiled a robbery bid in the Bicholim market.
The police disclosed that at about 3.30 am on Sunday, the police patrol van spotted four persons trying to open a shutter of a shop located at the Bicholim market.
On seeing the men-in-uniform, the culprits immediately fled from the scene. The police efforts to search the entire area proved futile.
Later in the evening, the shopkeepers were called at the police station to verify if there was any damage or loss of property.
But no one complained of any such incident.
Speaking to Herald, police sources told that the security in the market has been beefed up following the incident.
