OLD GOA: Traffic jams were witnessed along the Ribandar-Old Goa road due to heavy rush of vehicles and the Traffic Police had a tough time in regulating the traffic, particularly during the morning masses at Old Goa.
Several devotees could not attend the masses they had intended to participate in, due to the delay caused by the traffic jams. Lack of parking space also contributed towards the traffic jams and several devotees had to pay for parking their vehicles in private properties.
However, the festive mood was very much evident with people thronging the fair to buy sweets, groundnuts and other wares on sale, despite the steep rise in the cost.
Several families also stayed throughout the day in Old Goa making temporary arrangements on the lawns outside the Se Cathedral, thereby creating a bonding among them.
