MARGAO: Maina-Curtorim police has initiated an inquiry after 49-year-old Dr Jubilio Baptista, a resident of Loutolim, went missing from Wednesday morning.
The doctor had left his house at Devotte-Loutolim at around 7.30 am on Wednesday, to proceed to his clinic at Nessai, Sao Jose de Areal. However, his car was found abandoned on the main road at Camurlim with the key on the seat.
Maina-Curtorim PI Harish Madkaikar said Dr Jubilio had left behind his cell phone, beside his wallet at home, before leaving the house Wednesday morning. “His son has filed a missing report and we are investigating the matter,” PI Madkaikar said, while saying that the police had requisitioned the sniffer dog on Wednesday evening to assist in the investigations; however, the dog could not assist in collecting any clues.
Sources said the police have recorded the statement of a person who had reportedly found the doctor walking along the road Wednesday morning.
Replying to a question, PI Madkaikar said the police have intimated the police station across the State with regards to the missing doctor. Further investigations
are ongoing.
