MARGAO: Special Judge Vincent D’Silva on Tuesday issued Show Cause notices to concerned police officers of the Crime Branch for not executing summons to the witnesses in the power scam case.
The court had issued summons to four witnesses on July 16, returnable on July 26, which were found to be not served. It may be recalled that the court on July 16 had dismissed the applications made by then power minister Mauvin Godinho, Katreddi Venkata Sahaye Krishnakumar and M/s Glass Fibre Division, (A division of Binani Zinc Ltd) presently known as M/s Goa Glass Fibre Ltd for discharging them in the power scam case and the matter was posted on July 26 to examined witness after issuing summons to witness.
The Crime Branch has filed a charge sheet regarding a corruption case against a former power minister, besides two industrial units and four others in connection with the alleged Rs 4.52 crore power rebate scam. The case is also against the former chief electrical engineer, who has expired now. The matter has been posted for further hearing on July 28.
